TEAM

  • James Elvery - Co-Founder & CEO

James has been in and around triathlon his whole life since watching his father race as a toddler in the 80’s. As an active kid he swam competitively, but growing up all he wanted to be was a top triathlete. James won a few NZ schools titles at high school in the late 90’s, and started racing overseas for NZ at the age of 15. At 18 he finished 5th at the 2002 Junior World Champs in Mexico, and soon graduated to the senior ITU circuit. For 8 years he based himself in Europe, racing on the German Bundesliga and French Grand Prix circuits. His best result was 15th at the ITU World Series race in Madrid in 2011.

On retiring from racing in 2012 James worked at Specialized Bicycles in NZ during the day in sales and marketing roles. As a non-technical founder, RaceRanger was a passion project for evenings & /weekends. James resigned from Specialized in late 2023, and is now working fulltime on RaceRanger.

In James’s role as CEO he leads and project manages product development and all aspects of building the business.

James lives with his wife Tatiana and 3 children aged 8, 6, and 4 in Wanaka, New Zealand.

  • Dylan McNeice - Co-Founder

Dylan was a top level swimmer as a teenager. He found triathlon in 2005, and quickly made a name for himself in short course racing as the athlete expected to lead out the swim section of any race. James and Dylan met in 2005, and spent parts of the 2006-10 seasons living together in Germany competing on the Bundesliga circuit.

In 2013 Dylan was ready to retire from the sport, but entered the long distance Challenge Wanaka for one last big race race – his first at the full distance. He surprised everyone including himself, by winning the race and beating ex world champion and legend of the sport Chris McCormack in the process. This ignited a successful long-distance career which included multiple wins at half and full distance events around the world. Dylan retired from professional racing in 2020. Outside of competing Dylan has been involved in the Professional Triathletes Organisation working with the athletes to assist them in attending international events through the difficult Covid 19 times.

As a professional in the long-distance segment of the sport Dylan was constantly frustrated by the subjectiveness of the drafting rules and the difficulties faced by both athletes and race officials in managing them.

Dylan lives in Christchurch New Zealand, and continues to bike and run.
